About & Contact
Meet Carlos
I’m Carlos Vaz, a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor and the person behind CPV Driving School.
Learning to drive is a big step, and everyone starts from a different place. You may be excited to get on the road, feeling nervous about your first lesson or looking for a more supportive approach after previous lessons. Wherever you’re starting from, I’ll take the time to understand your goals, build your confidence and help you make steady progress.
My teaching style is calm, patient and practical. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to ask questions, talk through anything you find difficult and learn from mistakes without feeling judged. The aim is to make every lesson useful, encouraging and focused on helping you become a safer, more confident driver.
Helping you become an independent driver
Learning to drive is about more than following instructions. It’s about understanding what’s happening around you, recognising potential risks and making safe decisions independently.
I combine clear explanations with supportive coaching, adapting each lesson to your experience, confidence and progress. We’ll focus on the areas that matter most to you, with honest feedback, practical guidance and clear next steps after every lesson.
My goal is to help you get the most from your lessons, prepare thoroughly for your driving test and develop the skills and judgement you’ll continue to use long after you pass.
Where I teach
I offer automatic driving lessons in Canterbury, Herne Bay, Whitstable, Margate, Ramsgate, Broadstairs and surrounding areas.
Not sure whether I cover your location? Include your postcode when you enquire and I’ll confirm availability.

Enquire about lessons
After you enquire
I’ll review your message and contact you by email to discuss the next steps. Whether you’re ready to book or just exploring your options, there’s no pressure and sending an enquiry does not commit you to booking lessons.
